Speaking Game doesn't work in Ling App. How can I fix it?

The Speaking Game does not work in Ling app. How can I fix this?

The Speaking game requires internet access to compare your voice with our database online.  This is done to avoid storing our entire database on your device (which is rather large).

Please make sure you have a steady internet connection while playing the Speaking game. If you are experiencing problems with the Speaking game, you can also try the following steps:
  1. Please close the app COMPLETELY, letting the app run in the background does not close the app and may not resolve your issue.
  2. Reset your internet connection on your phone (and if possible, on your router as well).
  3. Open the app again to see if you can play the Speaking game. Please note, the microphone button should be pressed once to begin recording, and a second time to stop recording.
If that does not work, please kindly uninstall and reinstall the app to see if it fixes the problem.

If you receive the popup message "Insufficient Permission", this error message will show when your android device doesn't have the Google app installed or Microphone permission is not enabled for the Google app (The reason is beacuse we use Google voice recognition technology support the Speaking game).
Please check the steps below:
  1. Please check if you have the Google app installed on your device. If not, you can install it from here.
  2. Please enable "Microphone" permission for both the Google app and the Ling app from your device Settings screen,
  3. Try the Speaking game in the Ling app again.
Kindly let us know if this works for you.
