How can I keep track of my language-learning progress at Ling?

Ling is an awesome app for anyone who wants to learn a new language. You can have fun with games, chat with other learners, and explore different cultures. Ling can help you speak like a native in no time.

But how do you know if you’re making progress on Ling? How do you keep yourself motivated and excited about learning? Don’t worry, we have some cool features that will show you how much you’re learning and how well you’re doing. These features are:

Ling Streak

We want to make sure that you keep improving your language skills every day, that's why we've created Streaks. You will gain a streak every time you complete a lesson, exam, or chatbot. To help you stay on track, we've divided Streaks into three subcategories.

Days on Streak shows how many days in a week you've completed a streak. This number updates every week to reflect your progress.

Current Streak reflects your current streak, it resets to zero if you miss one day of learning. We know how important it is to maintain a daily learning routine so we encourage you to keep up the streak!

Longest Streak is the highest number of consecutive days you've maintained a streak. This number never resets, so every time you beat your personal best, you can feel proud of your progress. Keep up the good work and let's see how long you can keep your streak going!

Banana Points
Banana Points are experience points that represent how actively you are using Ling. They can be thought of as a measure of your engagement level, and you can find them on the Unit Overview screen. The more active you are on the platform, the more Banana Points you will earn. Banana points (BP) can be earned by completing any type of lesson, including vocabulary, writing, speaking, exam, and chatbot. This not only helps you track your progress, but it also provides a fun and engaging way to stay motivated and committed to your language learning objective.

Coins

Coins are a type of in-platform currency that can be used when playing games and you need a hint. They are displayed on the Unit Overview screen, so you can easily keep track of how many you have. You will receive 1 coin upon completing each lesson on top of the 5 coins you'll get after creating your account. Coins are a great way to help you overcome challenging lessons and continue making progress in your language-learning journey.

Crowns
Crowns show you how well you've done in each lesson and unit, allowing you to track your progress and see how far you've come.

To earn the full crown in a lesson, you need to complete it without any mistakes. This shows that you have a solid understanding of the material and are ready to move on to the next lesson.

To earn the full crown in a unit, you need to complete the unit exam without any mistakes. This ensures that you have mastered all the lessons within the unit and are ready to move on to the next unit.

With Crowns you can easily see how well you've done in each lesson and unit. Keep up the great work and let's see how many Crowns you can earn!

These features are made to help you see your progress and stay motivated as you learn your new language. They also make learning more fun and rewarding, as you can see how much you’ve improved and how much you know.

So, what are you waiting for? Start learning your new language today and see your progress with Ling!

Enjoy learning with Ling!
